SECOND ASEAN OIL SPILL PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE (OSPAR)

? Situation

 

The Philippines is one of ASEAN member that received $1.9 million worth of Marine Pollution Control and Communication equipment from Japan's OSPAR Project last January 1994.

 

These equipment are as follows:

Oil Skimmer (Mitsui-COV E3)  -------- 3 sets
Oil Tank (Rubberized)     -------- 3 sets

Dispersant           -------- 12 drums
Sorbent            -------- 3 crates

Macintosh Computer Main Unit Complete with Printer, Keyboard, Mouse, Color Monitor, Color Scanner and Modem

 

? Deployment and Control

 

The OSPAR MARPOL equipment were divided equally into three (3) fractions and deployed in Manila for Luzon, Cebu for Visayas and Davao for Mindanao (see chart).
